Chauffeur cars: the NCC areas at T1 and T3
In Italy a chauffeur car goes by the name NCC, and Fiumicino has no rank for them, so every one is reserved in advance. Multipiano B's ground floor is the NCC area serving Terminal 1, and PR7 serves Terminal 3. Collections there run to a 40-minute window, which the airport's NCC hub manages. Domestic and Schengen flights use Terminal 1, and non-Schengen and intercontinental arrivals come into Terminal 3, so your flight decides where the driver should be.

Coach groups: stands 20-26 at Terminal 3
Larger groups meet their coach at the Terminal 3 Arrivals coach hub, stands 20-26, next to exit 6; from inside the terminal, signs for the Bus Station lead the way. If part of your group lands at Terminal 1, agree in advance where everyone will gather, because a coach cannot hover at the kerb waiting for stragglers.
A minibus with 16-19 seats is often the neat middle ground for a family party or a small tour group, with room for suitcases at the back.
What Rome's ZTL BUS zones mean for your hotel
Rome manages tourist buses with ZTL BUS zones. A and C are in force day and night, B between 05:00 and midnight, and permits have only been available online since 1 January 2026. Tourist buses may not enter zone C, which is the historic centre, unless they carry a school trip or disabled passengers, or serve a hotel that has at least 40 rooms.
So if your hotel is near the Pantheon or Trevi Fountain, ask it how many rooms it has. That one number tells the operator whether the coach can reach the door or whether the group gets out beyond the zone boundary and walks the last bit.
Fiera di Roma and the road to Civitavecchia
The airport is about 30 km from Rome, typically 40-60 minutes by road, and the Fiera di Roma exhibition centre sits on that same airport road, which suits trade visitors. Cruise passengers heading to Civitavecchia face about 60 km from FCO, around 40-60 minutes, and a direct transfer avoids a trip into the city and back out.
