Drop-off zones around the Altstadt

The Altstadtring encloses an area with no coach parking at all. Instead, groups get off at designated drop-off zones limited to 20 minutes: Blumenstrasse serves the Viktualienmarkt, Frauenstrasse or Karl-Scharnagl-Ring the Hofbräuhaus, and Karl-Scharnagl-Ring also the Residenz and the English Garden, with Oskar-von-Miller-Ring and Maximiliansplatz as further options. Marienplatz, the heart of the Old Town, is reached on foot.

Where the vehicle waits while you sightsee

Within the Mittlerer Ring, a low-emission zone turns high-emission vehicles away. When the vehicle has to wait in town, central coach parking is available at Hansastrasse 51, which holds about 40 buses, at ZOB Arnulfstrasse and at the Olympiagelände close to BMW Welt. Fröttmaning and Messestadt-Ost, both P+R bus stations outside the zone, handle long-stay parking, and coaches visiting the Deutsches Museum can park at Erhardtstrasse 38.

Oktoberfest and the Christkindlmarkt

Oktoberfest 2027 opens on 18 September and closes on 3 October, and the Theresienwiese has no parking at all. ZOB Arnulfstrasse is nearby but usually full, and the Hansastrasse coach park by Heimeranplatz raises its rate while the Wiesn is on. Visitors are directed to P+R sites; for the U4 and U5 the nearest stations are Schwanthalerhöhe and Theresienwiese, and for the S-Bahn it is Hackerbrücke. In winter, Marienplatz hosts the Christkindlmarkt from 20 November to 24 December 2026.

Airport arrivals and Alpine days

From the city, Munich Airport is about 38 km, typically 40 to 60 minutes. Coaches wait at stops 21 and 22, the long-distance coach stops beside Terminal 2, a walk of 5 to 10 minutes from Terminal 1, while cars and vans pull into the kerbside arrival lanes. Neuschwanstein is about 120 km off, Salzburg over the Austrian border about 145 km, and the Dachau Memorial just about 20 km.

Can our minibus park near the Hofbräuhaus?

Not inside the Altstadtring. The group is set down at Frauenstrasse or Karl-Scharnagl-Ring for up to 20 minutes, and the vehicle then moves to coach parking outside.

Is Neuschwanstein and back a reasonable day?

Yes. It is about 120 km, an hour and a half to two hours each way, leaving time for the castle and the driver's required breaks.

How do we get a group to an FC Bayern match?

Coach parking is provided at the Allianz Arena itself, so a minibus or coach can take you there and wait for the journey back.
