Six ports, six sets of kerbside rules
Barcelona allows drop-off at its cruise terminals but forbids parking there. Civitavecchia runs a shuttle inside the port out to the ships. Venice limits the Marittima and San Basilio berths to ships of up to 25,000 GT, so larger ships use Fusina or Porto Marghera. In Copenhagen, Oceankaj has a 242-space car park, while Langelinie and Nordre Toldbod offer only short-term parking.

Linking the ship with the airport
Lisbon's port is about 9 km from its airport and Barcelona's about 15 km. Others are a real journey: Civitavecchia to Rome Fiumicino is about 60 km, and Piraeus to Athens airport 45 to 50 km. Bear that in mind when choosing flights.

Often, yes, with the luggage kept in the vehicle. It depends on the flight time and the distances involved.
Which vehicle suits a family of six with cruise luggage?
An eight-seat van takes six passengers, but its luggage space shrinks as seat rows fill. With large cases for a long voyage, a minibus is usually more comfortable.
Do cruise transfers need special paperwork?
Only if they cross a border, when the trip runs as an international occasional service under a journey form.
