Minibus hire and private transfers in Prague

Prague's old centre is best seen on foot, and the city makes sure of it by keeping coaches at stands around the heritage zone. With a little planning, that walk becomes part of the day rather than a chore.

Perimeter stands instead of hotel doors

Unless granted an exception, coaches may not enter Prague's historic centre. Instead, groups get on and off at paid stands ringing the heritage zone. Kiss-and-ride (K+R) stands give 15 minutes, while long-stay stands allow as much as four hours. Parking meters charge at the stands every day between 08:00 and 20:00, one more local cost that ends up reflected in the price.

Reaching the Castle and Old Town Square

For Prague Castle, groups step off at Mariánské hradby or Dlabačov, each about five minutes' walk away. For the Old Town Square and the Astronomical Clock, the stop is on nábřeží Edvarda Beneše, around ten minutes on foot. Charles Bridge links Malá Strana with the Old Town, so a common plan is to start at the Castle in the morning and be collected on the Old Town side later.

Václav Havel Airport arrivals

The airport lies about 18 km out, 25 to 45 minutes away. Schengen flights use Terminal 2 and non-Schengen ones Terminal 1, so friends arriving from Frankfurt and London will land in different halls. Car pick-up points are right in front of both arrival halls, and between 07:00 and 21:00 dispatchers help out at exits and meeting points.

Day trips into Bohemia and beyond

Kutná Hora, about 80 km, and Terezín, about 60 km, both work as a half or full day. Karlovy Vary is around 130 km; Český Krumlov, at about 170 km and two and a half to three hours, deserves an early start. Dresden, about 150 km, crosses into Germany, so it runs as an international trip with a journey form on board.

Can our minibus pull up at a hotel in the Old Town?

Coaches cannot enter the historic centre without an exception. For a small party, ask about an eight-seat van for the hotel arrival; otherwise plan a short walk with luggage from a perimeter stand.

How long can the vehicle wait while we tour the Castle?

At a K+R stand, 15 minutes. For a longer visit the vehicle moves to a long-stay stand, where it may stay up to four hours.

Can we visit the Christmas market by minibus?

Yes. Old Town Square holds its market between 28 November 2026 and 6 January 2027. Plan to walk in from the Old Town coach stop on nábřeží Edvarda Beneše.
