One arrivals hall and two sliding doors
Vienna has three terminals, Terminal 1, 1A and 3, but all arriving passengers leave through two sliding doors into a single arrivals hall. That is where your driver waits, whether you are a couple on a city break or a whole choir on tour. Cars and vans can use K3, the short-term car park right before the arrivals hall, so the walk is brief.

Where coaches and minibuses wait at VIE
Coaches have dedicated places to stop and park close to both the arrivals and departures levels, so a larger vehicle does not need to circle while bags come off the belt. Vienna's centre is about 18 km away, a drive of 25-45 minutes as a rule.
A minibus with 16-19 seats suits a small tour or a family celebration; a midi coach is the comfortable choice for around 30 people with suitcases.
Staying in the 1st district: set-down points on the Ring
Coaches have not been allowed to drive through Vienna's 1st district, the Innere Stadt, since 1 May 2014, so groups get off instead at card-free points on its edge, among them Börseplatz, Friedrich-Schmidt-Platz, Schwedenplatz, the Burgring and Votivkirche. Most can be used every day between 08:00 and 20:00; Grinzing and Westbahnhof are open 24 hours.
That timing is worth thinking about if you land in the evening. A group arriving late for a hotel near St Stephen's should talk the drop-off through with the operator beforehand, and because coach parking in Vienna usually cannot be booked ahead, it is better to plan the arrival than improvise it on the night.
Flying into Bratislava instead
Some groups find a better flight into Bratislava Airport, about 80 km from Vienna. A transfer across the border runs as an international occasional service, so a Community licence is needed by the operator, and a journey form has to travel in the vehicle; both are among the things we check before booking.
