The T4 coach station and the T1 bus area

At T4 there is a bus station whose 30 docks serve private and scheduled coaches alike, and T1 has a bus parking area. That means large groups on long-haul flights into T4 can walk to a proper loading dock instead of hunting along the kerb.

For smaller parties a minibus or executive van keeps things simple. The drive into the city is about 15 km and usually 20-45 minutes, so a family or project team can be checking into a hotel on the Gran Vía or in Salamanca soon after collecting their bags.

Environmental labels and Distrito Centro

Across the whole of Madrid, the ZBE keeps out any vehicle that has no DGT environmental label. Buses and coaches may enter the Distrito Centro zone if they display a C, ECO or CERO label, and labelled tourist coaches gained the same access under Ordinance 2/2026, published on 6 April 2026 in the BOCM.

In practice that puts a hotel near Sol or the Royal Palace within reach of a correctly labelled coach. The city's 272 coach spaces, managed by SEA Madrid, range from 5-minute and 15-minute bays to 2-hour and long-stay spots, which the driver uses while you check in or sightsee.

Madrid's main trade fair grounds, IFEMA Madrid, lie close to Barajas, so exhibition groups often stay close by and need short, frequent runs rather than one long transfer. A minibus on a fixed daily timetable suits that pattern well.
