Zurich Airport's kerbside permit and your minibus
At Zurich Airport, permitted limousines and coaches pull into the inner kerbside lane, both at Arrival 1 and at Arrival 2. The permit applies to buses, to vehicles over 2 m tall and to minibuses with more than nine seats; anyone making only an occasional single trip may instead pay for a ticket at the gate. Coaches load at Stand R of the Bus Station and wait at P12-300 and RFS.
What this means for you is simple: know whether you land at Arrival 1 or Arrival 2, and the operator tells you exactly where the driver will be. It sits about 10 km from the city, normally a 20-35 minute drive.

Zürich Bus Station at Sihlquai
Zürich Bus Station on Sihlquai is the city's coach terminal. Its 28 stands reopened in October 2024 after a renovation, and it sits next to the Swiss National Museum, with the main station alongside, so it works well as a meeting point when some of your group arrive by train. If your hotel is in the Altstadt or Niederdorf, ask the operator where the nearest workable stop will be.
Lake, old town and a view from Uetliberg
A first afternoon might start at Bürkliplatz, where the lake boats leave, then take in the Grossmünster, Fraumünster and Lindenhof on foot. The Kunsthaus is a good plan for a wet day, and Uetliberg shows you the whole city from above. The old town is best walked; the minibus comes into its own linking the viewpoint, the lake and your hotel.
Lucerne, the Rhine Falls and Mount Titlis
Lucerne is 45-60 minutes away, and so are the Rhine Falls at Neuhausen; Mount Titlis at Engelberg takes around 1-1.25 hours and Bern 1.25-1.5 hours. With a driver waiting at the foot of the mountain while you ride up, Titlis becomes a far easier day for children or older travellers.

If it has more than nine seats, yes, and the operator handles it. Occasional users can buy a gate ticket instead.
Can you run shuttles to Messe Zürich?
Yes. Oerlikon is home to both Messe Zürich and the Hallenstadion, while The Circle Convention Center sits at the airport itself. Share the daily timings and the operator will quote a shuttle pattern.
How long is a transfer to Lucerne?
About 50 km, usually 45-60 minutes, which also makes it an easy one-way move if your group is heading on.
