A shorter drive, and what that means for your first day
Orly is about 18 km from central Paris, and the drive generally takes 30-60 minutes. That shorter run makes a morning arrival genuinely useful: a group can land, drop bags at the hotel and still have most of the afternoon free.
For groups of up to 19, a minibus is the easy choice, with a rear luggage compartment for suitcases. Families and small executive parties of up to eight are well served by an executive van, and larger groups by a midi or full-size coach.
Crit'Air stickers, the PASS Autocar and the hotel door
Paris treats coaches differently from cars. Since 2024 the centre of the city has been closed to tourist coaches, a coach cannot park without a PASS Autocar, and inside the A86 the ZFE shuts out unclassified coaches and those rated Crit'Air 3 to 5 between 08:00 and 20:00. The operator handles the pass and vehicle choice, but it is worth knowing why a coach might set you down a short walk from the hotel.
If a door-to-door arrival matters, for older travellers or heavy luggage, say so when you ask for a quote. A smaller vehicle is sometimes the better answer.
Heading straight to Versailles or Disneyland Paris
Some groups skip the city on day one. Versailles is about 20 km from Paris and Disneyland Paris about 45 km, so a private transfer can be planned to go there directly. If you want to stop for a visit on the way to the hotel, ask whether bags can stay aboard while you are inside.
