The inner kerbside lane at Arrival 1 and 2

Zurich has two arrival areas, Arrival 1 and Arrival 2, plus the Airside Center with Docks A, B and E. Limousines and coaches with a permit pull into the inner kerbside lane at both Arrival 1 and Arrival 2. Buses need that permit, as does any vehicle over 2 m and any minibus with more than nine seats; an operator making an occasional one-off trip can instead buy a ticket at the gate.

So whether your group comes in a V-Class van or a 16-seat minibus, the vehicle can usually meet you close to the doors.

Bus Station Stand R and the waiting areas

Full-size coaches board their passengers at Stand R of the bus station. While they wait for your group, they use the P12-300 and RFS waiting areas, so the vehicle is close by without blocking the kerb. For large groups, the operator will tell you whether to meet at the kerbside lane or at Stand R, and it helps to share that with everyone before they fly.

A quick run into the city

The airport is about 10 km from central Zurich, usually 20-35 minutes by road. Zürich Bus Station at Sihlquai, with 28 stands, reopened in October 2024 after renovation and serves as the city's coach terminal, with the main railway station and the Swiss National Museum as its neighbours.

For hotels in the Altstadt or along the lake, a minibus or executive van is often the most practical way to get close. Larger groups may set down at the bus station and walk, which is short for hotels around the main station.

The Circle, Lucerne and the Rhine Falls

For conference groups, the Circle Convention Center could hardly be closer, since it sits at the airport. Leisure groups often leave the city behind at once for the Rhine Falls or Lucerne, both around 50 km from Zurich, and reach the hotel later in the day.
