Minibus hire and private transfers in Paris

Landing in Paris as a group is the easy part. Getting everyone and their luggage from Charles de Gaulle or Orly to a hotel in Saint-Germain or Opéra is where a minibus with a driver earns its keep.

From CDG or Orly to the hotel door

Charles de Gaulle lies roughly 30 km out of the centre, a drive of 45 to 75 minutes depending on traffic; Orly is closer at about 18 km and 30 to 60 minutes. At CDG, pre-booked operators wait in the Parking Pro at each terminal, including T1, 2EF, 2G and T3, and greet their passengers from there. If your party arrives on flights at different terminals, the CDGVAL shuttle train links T1, T3 and T2, so everyone can gather at a single meeting place.

What the PASS Autocar and the coach ban mean for groups

Paris has made life harder for large tourist coaches. Since 2024 they have been barred from central Paris, and coach parking anywhere in the city is paid at all hours and needs a PASS Autocar, split into a central zone (1st to 11th arrondissements plus Étoile) and a peripheral one (12th to 20th). Groups are set down at 56 on-street coach bays or near hotels and venues, and the Louvre coach park is reached only via the western quays. It is one reason families and wedding parties of a dozen or so choose a minibus or van: a smaller vehicle is simply easier to place at a hotel entrance.

The low-emission zone inside the A86

Coaches classed Crit'Air 3, 4 or 5, along with unclassified ones, have been kept out of everything inside the A86 since 2025, every day between 08:00 and 20:00. The ban covers the whole city plus a ring of suburbs, so the operator must send a vehicle carrying a compliant sticker.

Versailles, Giverny and the Champagne country

Versailles is about 20 km away, 30 to 60 minutes, and Disneyland Paris about 45 km east in Marne-la-Vallée. Giverny is roughly 75 km, an hour to an hour and a half, and Reims about 145 km. Chambord in the Loire Valley, around 180 km out, makes a full day.

Can a minibus drop us right at the Louvre or the Eiffel Tower?

Not always at the entrance. Coaches are barred from central Paris and reach the Louvre coach park only via the western quays, so groups often walk the last few minutes from a set-down bay.

Which airport is easier for a group, CDG or Orly?

Orly is closer, about 18 km against 30 km, so transfers are usually shorter. Both have professional parking for pre-booked vehicles, so the choice mostly comes down to your flights.

Can we book a private transfer to Disneyland Paris?

Yes. It is about 45 km east of the centre, 45 to 75 minutes by road, and a private transfer keeps pushchairs, suitcases and children together.
