Fiumicino to the ship, and back again

Fiumicino lies about 60 km from the port, around 40-60 minutes by road. At the airport, chauffeur drivers for T1 wait at Multipiano B, ground floor, and for T3 at PR7, while coaches use stands 20-26 at exit 6 of T3 Arrivals. Chauffeur cars there must be pre-booked, since there is no pick-up from a rank. For the journey home, send the operator the ship's schedule and your flight time together, so the pick-up is planned with both in mind.

Seeing Rome between ship and hotel

Rome lies about 80 km from Civitavecchia, 1-1.5 hours away. Stopping to sightsee on the way means Rome's ZTL BUS rules apply: zone B runs 05:00-24:00 and zones A and C around the clock, permits have been sold only online since 1 January 2026, and most tourist coaches are kept out of zone C, the historic centre. The Colosseum permit includes pre-booked areas for parking and boarding, Circo Massimo among them. A good minibus tour is planned around those points, with short walks in to the Trevi Fountain and the Pantheon.
